  • Original songs, some with humour and singalong chorus’ mixed in with those of more serious topics.

  • My aim is to entertain and involve the audience, and leave them with something to think about.

  • Some of my original songs are written with a wry, self deprecating humour, ranging over a variety topics, others tell more serious stories. We all love a sing along! So, many of my songs have easy to pick up chorus’ and are upbeat. In between the songs, a few stories of explanation will be told.

  • My objective is to keep the performance light, upbeat and entertaining.

Singer/Songwriter

As a song writer, Graham addresses a wide spectrum of topics, feelings and issues. Never forgetting that audiences are there to be entertained, much effort is put into making songs accessible through strong choruses and verses which carry a story. The stories are varied in topic, not limited to love and loss, but tell of many things. Within the repertoire of over 50 original songs, some have a rye humour about them others address more serious topics.

The guitar features prominently and there are a few self-written instrumentals. Graham was guitar tutor for 20 years up until 2021when he gave up to focus on gigging. In 2009 Graham was awarded Guitar Tutor of the year award by the Registry of Guitar Tutors.

Graham has also had a number of Prestigious support spots - Oyster Band, Phil Odgers (The Men They Couldn’t Hang), Chicken Shack.

Graham’s song “It's the Little things” reached the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest.

After submitting various examples of his work, Graham was awarded a place on a songwriting workshop tutored by Sir Ray Davies MBE.

Drinking Wine in my Pyjamas - Lockdown humour

The Rings No Longer Fits - A songs of realisation, when a couple know they are over.

Music is Cheaper than Therapy - In dark times we all have ‘go to’ songs or albums to help us through.

My Next Great Affair - A story of a lonely guy wondering about his next love.

Varosha - A descriptive song of a city in Cyprus left in ‘no-mans land’ since the 1974 invasion.

Drinking Wine in my Pyjamas - A new habit which formed during Lockdown for about 80% of the UK.

Old Compton Street - A guitar instrumental in the style of the great 1970s guitar pickers.

Waste a Little with You - There can be no great compliment than wanting to waste time with somebody; in a bar, walking etc

My Next Great Affair - The story of a lonely guy dreaming of how he will impress his next love.

Varosha - A descriptive song about a town trapped in ‘no-mans land’ between the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus.

Drinking on a School Night - I once suggested to a friend meeting for beers and his response was “not on a school night”, seemed the best time for it!

Old Compton Street - A guitar instrumental. Hardest thing about an instrumental, is what to call it, so I used a place name, simples!

Music is Cheaper than Therapy - Playing, listening, singing in the shower all helps more than the analysts couch.

It’s the Little Things (that give it away) - It’s not always the big event that raises suspicion (“A book of matches, why were you there today?”).

Dreaming - In this day and age when we are told to pursue our dreams, there is no age limit/use by date on dreams.

Caught in the Rain - A little self-pity from someone that always thinks things are going wrong for him.

Waste a Little Time (with you) - What greater compliment could there be than to want to waste time with someone?

When I close my Eyes - As we get older, so do parents. This talks about memories of youth and younger parents.
